Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) – Slot Booking
1. Who must book a slot?
All pilots intending to depart from or arrive at Friedrichshafen Airport (EDNY) during AERO 2026 (22–25 April) must reserve a slot via the online booking system.
2. How does the slot booking process work?
- Pre-registration opens on 12 February 2026 via www.aero-slot.de/besucher
- Randomized booking activation begins in mid-March 2026, allowing slots to be reserved and paid for.
3. Why is pre-registration required?
Due to high demand, pre-registration ensures a fair distribution of available slots.
Registered users will be granted booking access in randomized blocks.
4. How long is a slot valid?
- During peak periods, slots are valid for 30 minutes.
- During off-peak periods and midday hours, slots are valid for up to 60 minutes.
5. Can I modify or cancel my booked slot?
The complete booking (arrival and departure) may be cancelled free of charge up to 72 hours (3 days) before the scheduled arrival time.
If cancellation occurs within 72 hours prior to arrival, 50% of the weight-based package price will be charged.
Please cancel unused slots even at short notice. This ensures you are only charged 50% and allows other pilots to make use of the released slot.
If you did not receive your preferred slot, please check the booking system regularly. Slots may become available due to cancellations or additional capacity releases.
Changes are possible:
- Arrival data up to 3 hours before scheduled arrival
- Departure data up to 3 hours before scheduled departure
6. Are there special regulations for helicopters?
A dedicated helicopter landing area has been applied for.
Pilots wishing to use this area must indicate this during the booking process via the designated checkbox.
Friedrichshafen Airport will apply for the necessary approval from the competent authority.
This approval may be subject to additional charges.
7. When are the fees charged?
The reservation fee of €42.00 will be charged immediately upon booking.
All remaining fees will be charged to the stored credit card after the event. Any price adjustments resulting from booking changes will be reflected in the final invoice.
Cancellation policy:
- Cancellation up to 72 hours before arrival: free of charge
- Cancellation within 72 hours before arrival: 50% of the package price
- No-show: 100% of the booked package price
Please ensure timely cancellation if no arrival takes place.
8. What happens if I arrive without a valid slot booking?
Arrival without a valid slot booking is not permitted.
In individual cases, an arrival fee of €400 may be charged if a pilot arrives without a confirmed slot.
9. What are the service hours of the Slot Office?
The Slot Office is available:
- From mid-March until 26 April
Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:00 - During the exhibition days

After booking activation, communication is handled exclusively via email.
10. Can I change my address after the event?
A manual address change after the event is possible.
A processing fee of €20 will apply.
11. Is there access control for the apron?
Access to the apron is only permitted with a valid slot booking including correct aircraft and passenger data.
All data will be verified at the access control point to prevent unauthorized entry.
12. How do I receive my complimentary 1-day ticket for AERO Friedrichshafen?
With your slot reservation, you will receive a ticket code.

One complimentary ticket is provided per arrival slot.
Additional tickets for passengers can be purchased online at a reduced rate or on-site at the Crew Tent.
13. Are there alternative airfields for traveling to AERO?
- AERO UL Airfield Markdorf (approx. 10 km west of Friedrichshafen)
UL aircraft only, no customs or fuel services

- Leutkirch (EDNL)
→ Shuttle service available - Konstanz (EDTZ)

14. Is there a check of pilot licenses and passenger lists?
Before departure, the following documents will be checked at the Crew Tent:
- Pilot license
- Passenger list (all passengers must be registered in advance)
Passengers without a registered pilot escort will not be granted access to the airport premises.
15. Is there a shuttle service from the Crew Tent to the aircraft?
Yes, a shuttle service is provided for pilots and passengers.
For safety reasons, its use is mandatory.
